I just noticed that software is hard. Things that ought to be simple take forever. Changing one thing breaks three other things. No matter where you want to go, it's a long road.

Software is machinery made from thought. The more thinking you put into it, the more your software can do. It takes an awful lot of thinking to make it do the right things.
