happy birthday, rosanna!
Hey! Rosanna Lyn Jacobs Anderson turned 0 yesterday! Congratulations, John! :)bleh.
The most effective organization in the U.S. has totally
screwed up my plans for today. A driver called in sick, so they
can't make the schedule they set for themselves. They asked to reschedule me. No problem. So I get transferred over to the rescheduling people. It's 8:40am, but the voicemail says leave a message because they won't be open until 7:30am.
Oh well. I don't mind rescheduling, but considering I had to wait 3 weeks last time I made an appointment, I figure I'm going to wind up strapping that bed to the top of my car and dumping it in the trash.
We'll see.
later... They rescheduled for monday. All is right in the world again. :)morning thoughts
The Salvation Army is coming by my old place to pick up my waterbed today, so I've got to be out there. Meanwhile, here are some snapshots of what's going on in my brain this morning:
- high speed car chase - the other day, I waited in line at the drive up ATM. When I finally pulled up, the screen had two options: "make another transaction" or "return your card". Now, if I were a sensible criminal, I could have withdrawn the dude's money. But, since I never had the tuition for criminal school, I decided to take the guy's card and chase him across the parking lot. I think he thought I was crazy, driving after him and honking, but he got the picture when I held up his card.
- stone mountain is my new exercise routine. It's nearby, so I plan to climb it every morning. Except this morning, because I'm going to roswell. :) Note to self, though: go in the morning. I went in the afternoon yesterday and it was so hot I barely made it up. The day before was raining, and I had no problem. (Except I slipped and hurt my wrist. Ow!)
- Americorps - someone who is volunteering in Americorps signed up for cornerhost last night, and asked about a discount.
(Americorps is not famous for its high salaries). I think this is a great idea. I served one and a half terms in Americorps, and I know first hand what a great experience it is, and what it does for the community. I'm also a Libertarian, and it bothers me that Americorps is funded by tax dollars. I believe support for this kind of thing should come only from the private sector. And hey! That's me! So, I'm going to give a discount to members of Americorps and other similar groups.
Okay, that's it. My brain's empty now. (What do you expect? It's early!)
Oh wait. No... That's not quite right. I've also got, of all things, the song Mr Bojangles stuck in my head. AAAAAAAARRRRRGH!
