it works!
I finished the aging receivables report about an hour ago. I'm really happy with it. For the first time I can see the behavior patterns behind my accounts: this person hasn't paid in months. That one owes me a big chunk of money, but only since very recently. That other person missed a payment once and then paid their normal bill, without ever paying back the missed payment.
I wrote a script a while back to reconcile the data in my database with the text file data I can download from paypal and my merchant account. I haven't run it in a few months, but it's quick. I figure
once I run that again to make sure I haven't missed any payments, I can safely go after these overdue accounts.
The reason I didn't get it done yesterday was because it required a feature of my object-relational mapper that I hadn't written yet. So I wrote that yesterday, and now, as far as I can tell, the development version of duckbill is once again working, including all the changes I made on the live version but hadn't integrated yet.
I have a couple small tweaks to make, and then... My next projects are figuring out SpamAssassin and making my namservers database driven. And that, in turn clears the way for my control panel. Exciting times for the cornerhost automation project. :)
