the little prince
I visited one of my best friends today. She had a book of quotes from
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Here is one I wrote down, because it
reminds me of everything I work on:
What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step.
It is always the same step, but you have to take it.
That's from a book called Wind, Sand, and Stars. He
also wrote The Little Prince. I'd never read it, but
it turns out the whole book is online.
Perhaps you will ask me, "Why are there no other drawing in this book as magnificent and impressive as this drawing of the baobabs?"
The reply is simple. I have tried. But with the others I have not been successful. When I made the drawing of the baobabs I was carried beyond myself by the inspiring force of urgent necessity.
It's funny. I like it. :)
